IGNOU MCA Admission is offered by the university to the students via online as well as offline mode. The admission to Master of Computer Applications is offered by the university in both January and July academic cycle. The Indira Gandhi National Open University publishes the advertisement in November for July session. For January admissions, the notification is published in the month of May every year.
IGNOU MCA Admission:
IGNOU MCA is available in English medium only. It is a three-year master degree in computer applications.The semester system approach has been applied to the university to study this discipline. It is divided into six semesters. The first semester spans from January to June month and second semester is from July to December.
The university conducts the examination for the student’s admission in January session in the month of June whereas the term end exams (TEE) for July-December semester take place in December month. Due to the semester system in MCA, the students have the full advantage to appear in any of the course exams in any of the semester subject to completing the programme in minimum time as per instructions from the university.
The total number of Courses in this programme are 31 in number with the total credits equal to 108.
Programme Objective:
The programme has been designed with the main objective to fulfill the growing demand of software developers in the software industry. It also helps students in preparing for productive careers in the field of teaching and research in the core and emerging areas of the discipline.IGNOU MCA provides the thorough knowledge about the software technology to solve mathematically, computing, communications/ networking.
Duration of Programme:
As we have already mentioned above, the students have to complete all the courses of this programme in the minimum duration of 3 years. However, the students have been given the relaxation up to a maximum duration of six years to complete the master degree.
Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate seeking IGNOU MCA admission in Indira Gandhi National Open University must possess three years Bachelor Degree from any recognized University and he or she must have studied mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or graduation level else the candidate must need to pursue and pass the BCS-012 course concurrently with this programme.There is no need to pursue BCS-012 course if have studied mathematics at 10+2 level.
Age Eligibility:
There is no minimum and maximum age bar for this course.
Fee Structure:
The total fees if is Rs. 54,000/-.The fee is divided into Rs. 9000/- per semester.For the first semester students need to pay Rs. 100 in addition to registration fees.The students who have not studied mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level need to pay an additional fee of Rs.1200/- for the BCS-012 course.

IGNOU MCA Admission Procedure:
IGNOU Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is one of the most demanding programme in which students want to take admission. The IGNOU MCA admission related advertisement is published by the university in the local dailies and national newspapers. Also, the university publishes the advertisement on the official website of the university at www.ignou.ac.in.
To get admission in this master degree programme, the students should visit their nearest IGNOU Regional Centre and obtain the prospectus.The admission forms and other required forms, enrollment card are provided in the prospectus itself. Students can also download IGNOU prospectus from the university official website.
IGNOU MCA Online Admission:
The learners can also fill up IGNOU Online Admission form to apply for admission to MCA programme. All they need is the working internet connection at their home or in their nearby. To apply for IGNOU MCA Online Admission, the students should visit the university official website at following web URL: https://onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in/admission/.
The students have to upload their academic documents, scanned photograph and signature to register them for any course online. The IGNOU MCA fees can be paid online as well if the application form is filled online via credit/ debit card.
