Ignou Master Degree Programmes – The Indira Gandhi National Open University offers admission to its various programmes such as MBA, MCA, M.Com, MA, M.Sc., M.Tech, M.Phil, etc. These programmes are offered by the university through its different modes of education such as Distance, Online and Regular.

The Medium of Instruction:
Most of Ignou master degree programmes are offered to the learners in the English language. But there are few for which the medium of instruction is both English and Hindi.

Eligibility Criteria:
The candidates who wish to apply for admission to master degree programmes need to fulfil certain eligibility criteria. For admission to most of these programmes, the candidate should be a graduate from recognised university.
There are so many post graduate courses offered by the university, so you must check the complete eligibility detail in the prospectus before applying for admission.
Also, you may require work experience to take admission to some of these programmes.
Admission Procedure:
The learners can apply for admission via Online as well as Offline methods. The university has set up online admission portal to make it easier for students to apply for admission by sitting at home.
The admissions to most of these courses are offered by “Walk-in admission”.Under this admission scheme, the admission is carried out throughout the year. There are few professional post-graduate programmes such as MBA, M.Ed., etc. for which admissions are conducted on the basis of entrance test.
The candidates need to qualify the entrance examination to qualify for admission. The entrance test is conducted once or twice in a year. The university offers admission to most of the Master Degree Programmes in both January and July academic sessions.
There are few programmes which are offered in one particular session only. The Ignou admission related advertisement is published by the university on its official website. Also, it is published in the local daily newspapers in the month of April-May for July session and in the month of September-October for January session.
Prospectus:
To fill up admission form for various master degree programmes, the applicant can visit their nearest Ignou Regional centre. They can buy the prospectus from there by paying Rs.200/-.The common prospectus provided by university consists of all the required information or detail about all these courses.
Students can also obtain the required forms such as re-registration, re-evaluation, term end examination, etc. from the prospectus. The hard copy of prospectus can be also ordered via a post by sending a demand draft of required fee in favour of Ignou, New Delhi to the following address : Registrar (Student Registration Division), Indira Gandhi National Open College, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-68.
The students can check out the fee in the latest admission notification. We are not mentioning the fee here because it may change during the course of time. The soft copy of the prospectus can also be obtained from the university website at www.ignou.ac.in. under “Downloads” section.
