Ignou Bachelor of Architecture is a full-time five-year programme for which classes are held generally from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM. The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) offers admission to its bachelor degree programme in the field of Architecture.

This discipline is taught in the classes which are held in the Study Centres specially made for Architecture programme in the Institutes of Architecture and Design. In addition to the classroom teaching, the lecturers are also arranged through Video Conferencing.  During the studies, the tours and field visits are also arranged to learn various aspects of Architecture.

Ignou Bachelor of Architecture Admission Eligibility:

 The candidate needs to satisfy eligibility conditions for admission which are mentioned below:

  •  50% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level or equivalent with Mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level Or
  • 10+3 years Diploma (any stream) (recognized by Central/State Governments with 50%)
    aggregates marks. Or
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in
    aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination.
  • The candidate seeking admission to BARCH should have a valid NATA score obtained in National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture.

Medium of Instruction: English

Fee Structure: A student has to pay Rs. 75,000/- towards Programme Fee for each year. The fees of Rs. 75,000/- will be paid in advance before the start of the academic year by Demand Draft drawn on any nationalized bank.

Duration: The minimum duration to complete the course is 5 years but the university provides the flexibility to students to complete it in the maximum duration of 7 years. The registration is valid for a maximum of 7 years. If the learner is not able to complete all the courses, then he/she have to take the admission again.

Ignou B.Arch Admission Procedure: 

The candidates need to submit the application form completed in all respects duly filled into IGNOU. With the application form, you have to attach one set of attested copies of Mark Sheet and Certificate of qualifying examination with the Application form.

Don’t forget to attach one attested copy of valid NATA Score Card with the Application Form which is mandatory. If the candidate is from reserved category, then he/she must attach the  Caste Certificate, Caste Validity Certificate in duplicate duly attested by Gazetted Officer.

The candidates have to send the filled-in application form along with application processing Fee of Rs.100/- as Demand Draft drawn in favour of IGNOU payable at New Delhi to IGNOU.

The admission will be done totally on the basis of merit for which the list will be prepared based on marks obtained in qualifying examination and NATA Test. The university will publish the merit list on the official website www.ignou.ac.in.

On the appearance of candidate’s name in the merit list, he/she will be called for counselling. The selected students need to submit a Demand Draft of Rs. 22,500/- drawn in favour of IGNOU payable at New Delhi at the time of counselling and another Demand Draft for Rs. 52,500/- in favour of the Institute allotted during counselling for confirmation of admission.

If for some reason the candidate is unable to confirm his/ her admission, the seat will be allotted to the next student on the waiting list.
